The graphs give us information about the city council funding for book clubs and the number of memberships over the four-year period.
The council donations were not always consistent over the years. During the first two years, the amount of funding increased slightly from $20,000 to around $25,000. However, these donations rose sharply to $40,000 in year 3 before falling again to $35,000 in the final year.
Inversely, the number of book club memberships fell from 6000 to 5000 in the first two years. Meanwhile, after the second year, the number of book club members increased steadily to 10000 in the third year, which continues to increase and reached a peak of 12000 in the final year.
Overall, the amount of money the city council gives to book clubs was not consistent. During the first years, the donations were higher compared to last year. Despite the amount of money given in those two years, the club membership numbers did not increase. It seems that there was no relation between the funding and the number of book club members. The membership numbers experienced an upward trend during the last three years.
