Dear Mr. and Mrs. Collins,

I hope this letter finds you both well. Firstly, I would like to extent my sincerest gratitude for the kind invitation to Chris’s surprise party. I am writing to send my apologies that I will not be able to attend in this party.

I have no doubt that Chris will completely enjoy the surprise party you have planned. I have known Chris since we were child, and I am aware of his love for gathering filled with music and delicious food. Also, it would be a great opportunity to boost his energy level after the awful accident that he had last month.

Unfortunately, I regret to inform you that I will not be able to participate in the party due to a prior job interview that I cannot reschedule it. I have studied a lot in past year for this job position, so it is an amazing chance to get my dream job.

Despite my absence at the party, I am eager to arrange an appointment next week with Chris to celebrate his special day in our own way. I believe that it will be a good opportunity for us to spend a memorable night together.

I wish you have a great time. Thank you for inviting me.
