Dear Mr. and Mrs. Collins,
First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to you for your kind invitation to a surprise birthday party of your son, Chris. Second of all, I might admit that throwing party on the yacht, was the best idea I could have imagined. Being Chris’s best friend, and knowing his preferences, I would also recommend you to organise life music band concert.
I am sorry to disappoint you, but I should say that my presence on this occasion is not possible. As you probably have heard from Chris, my parents were planning a
three-weeks safari tour in Africa. Unfortunately, the dates of tour has suddenly been changed, due to my dad’s work. As we planned before, we should have already came back to the date of the event, but now things has changed and I will not be able to join the party.
But anyway, I am going to make my own present for Chris. I will book him a ticket to my hometown, Burlington VT, on Christmas holidays. I am sure he will be more than pleased to visit my city. I will show him everything around and we definitely arrange a dinner and bar night out to celebrate his birthday once again!
Thank you for your invitation
Warm wishes,
Mark
