Dear Mr and Mrs Collins,

Thank you for inviting me to the surprise birthday party for Chris, but I am afraid that I have a bad news to tell you.

This is Chris’s 30th birthday. You decided to prepare this birthday secretly, and when Chris come home from work, he must be amazed by all the beautiful decorations at home. Beside, you have ordered a huge birthday cake and prepare to cook various delicious food, so, Chris must enjoy the surprise party, and he might be moved to cry.

But I am so regretful that I am not able to attend the party, and share the wonderful moment with you. The party is held in the Friday evening, but I have an important meeting lasting to half past seven, and at that time you might have finished the dinner, so, I won’t attend your party.

Next Saturday, I am going to a newly-opened water park that is not very far from my home. The park is filled with many exciting facilities and I am going to invite Chris to come with me. We will have a great time there.

I am looking forward to play with Chris in the water park and enjoy ourselves there.
