Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing this letter regarding my new job that is going to start next week. But, because of some family emergency I will not be able to join from the scheduled date.

I was hired on 15th January, begin working from 12th February. Unfortunately, last night my grandfather expired due to a heart attack. Because of this, it is difficult for me to leave my family alone and to join the job.According to our culture, all the rituals are needed to be completed within 10 days of the demise.

As I mentioned the time that is required in this process so, I will only be able to start my job from 23rd February, but I am available to work remotely and will be available through the emails.I apologize for all the inconvenience caused and I promise to complete all my pending work as soon as possible. I hope you will address my problem and I will await for a favorable response.
