Dear James,

I hope you’re doing well. I have some exciting news to share – I was recently promoted to Senior Technician at work, after nearly three years on the team. It’s a role I’ve been working hard toward, so I’d love to celebrate with a few close colleagues over a relaxed dinner at my place.

I’m planning to host the get-together this Saturday, the 19th of September, starting at 7 pm. We live at 24 Marchant Road in Langford, just a short drive from the office – I’ll send you the exact directions closer to the day.

It would be wonderful if you could join us. If you’d like to bring something along, a bottle of wine or a light dessert would be lovely, though it’s absolutely not necessary. Please do let me know beforehand if you have any dietary restrictions or food preferences, so I can make sure there’s something suitable for you.

I really hope you can make it – it wouldn’t feel complete without you there.
