Dear Ms. Jackson,

My name is Tina Thompson, and I am writing to request an extension for the Therapy Effectiveness essay due last week in your Thursday 9 am Psychology Foundations class at Carlton College.

I apologize that I haven’t been able to finish the essay yet. Unfortunately, I was struck by a very strong flu for the past two weeks. The flu resulted in severe migraines that made it difficult to concentrate or use my laptop for extended periods. I did visit a doctor and am now recovering well.

Given these circumstances, I would be grateful if you could grant me an extension for the project submission. I am confident that I can complete the essay by next Thursday, before our class.

Thank you for your understanding.

Kind regards,

Tina Thompson
