Dear Alice,

This is Benny Tan who is enrolling in your communication class and the module code is NMC 1123 on Wednesday, 9 am. As I am the only one with the name, Benny in this class and I am sure you know me as we had spoken many times.

The purpose of this letter is to request for an extension to the submission date of my final project. I know it may seems unfair to others but allow me to explain myself why I was unable to submit on time. I was down with Covid-19 last week and I was warded in the hospital for a week. I am fully recovered now after the stay at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). As I have just discharged from the medical institution today, I will start to work on this assignment now. I sincerely request for a week extension from today.

Lastly, I enclose this letter with a medical certificate as an evidence for my illness. Thank you for reading this letter and your prompt reply to this letter is appreciated.
