Dear Mary,

How are you? I hope you had a great Monday. I am writing this letter to give you my gratitude for the invitation to your dinner party last weekend. I appreciate all the efforts you had given to prepare the event. I had to tell you that I really enjoyed the dinner, especially the beef rendang and tiramisu that you made.I also want to apologize that I had to leave suddenly during our dinner. I know you must have thought that I was rude, however there was a family emergency. I got a call from my dad, saying that my mom had gone to the hospital. I was very shocked that I forgot to tell you about what happened and I am so sorry for just storming out without saying goodbye.

I feel so guilty until now and I hope you would accept my apologize. I hope that we can grab a luch or maybe have another dinner in the following days. Don’t worry, it would be on me.
