Dear Mr. Smith,

I am writing to provide you with feedback on the staff development course I attended last week.

It was a five-day course designed to improve the paper marking skills of high school physics teachers. The chief examiner of the Cambridge Advanced Level Physics course from Cambridge Assessments facilitated all the sessions.

I had been struggling with marking structured essay questions during the past few years. Nevertheless, I benefitted from this workshop in many ways. In particular, awarding marks as per the marking criteria outlined in the marking scheme was well-explained at the workshop, and it helped me mark the papers for this semester with minimal errors, and students’ feedback on marking was excellent.

However, I do not recommend this course for middle school teachers because the marking criteria for Ordinary-level students are not specified in the curriculum, and it has to be done by the school department of physics.
