Dear John
I am writing this letter with great pleasure to inform you that I have returned from the STEM training course work which was held in University of Melbourne from 15th of Novemebr to 20th of November. I imagined it will be useful to share some information about this workshop with you.
First and foremost, this training workshop was desinged to offer hands-on experience to some of the key molecular biology techniques commonly used in the laboratory. In addition, there were exicitng research seminars deliverd by world renown scientists in the field of cancer immunology. At the end of the program they have organised a 3MT thesis competition for early career researchers.
Importantantly, the technical approaches I learned to perform will be extreamly useful to be be applied in my ongoing research studies. Moreover, the the scientific discusstion we shared with expert scientists were vital to fine-tune my current findings. Also, the 3MT competition was a great experience to sharp our skills in science communication.
However, I believe this workshop will not be useful for bioinformaticians in our lab, as this was primarily focused on wet lab research activities. Nevertheless, I strongly recommend this program for all our upcomming students.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Best regards
Chamikara
