Dear Sarah,

I hope you are doing well. I am writing to tell you about a minor accident that happened while I was staying at your home and looking after it.

Firstly, I am really sorry for the loss. On the day you left the house and handed me the keys for looking after it, an unintentional accident happened at night.

The accident happened at night when I was drinking a glass of juice in the living room. Your cat was also sitting quietly there, and suddenly she jumped on me for cuddling. At that moment, I was not prepared for her sudden jump. As a result, the glass fell down, broke, and the juice spilled on the carpet. Sadly, the carpet became dirty.

I was very shocked and sad at the same time because of the mess. However, I have already contacted a carpet cleaning shop, and they will come to your place to clean the carpet with an advanced machine. Also, I have ordered a pair of glasses online, which will be delivered soon to your home. I feel that you trusted me to look after your house, and I made a mess. I feel very sorry for it. I hope you understand and forgive me.
