Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing regarding an item that I accidentally left in my hotel room during my recent stay at your hotel.
I stayed at the hotel from 3 to 5 September in Room 214. The item I left behind is a black leather wallet containing several bank cards, my driver’s licence and some cash. It is particularly important to me because of the personal documents inside.
I believe I may have left the wallet on the bedside table next to the lamp. I remember using it shortly before going to bed on the final night of my stay, but I did not notice that it was missing until I arrived home.
I would be grateful if you could ask your housekeeping staff to check the room and the hotel’s lost property department. If the wallet has been found, please let me know how I can arrange for it to be returned to me. I would be happy to pay any reasonable postage or delivery costs.
Thank you for your assistance. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours faithfully,
John Smith
