Overall, the three schools that saw a downward trend were Specialist Schools, Grammar Schools, and Voluntary-controlled Schools, while Community Schools increased over the period surveyed.
Looking at the table, from 2000 to 2009, Voluntary-controlled Schools decreased the most, falling by about 32%. Whereas, Grammar Schools go down suddenly by 12%. Similarly, throughout the 9 years, Specialist Schools only reduced sharply 3%.
On the other hand, Community Schools rose by nearly 36% of the students from 2000 to 2009. In addition, Community Schools reached the highest point at 58% in 2009. Finally, since its inception in 2000, Community Schools’ student population decreased slightly to 12%.
