The table illustrates the proportions of students attending four different secondary school types between 2000 and 2009.
Overall, it is clear from table that, community schools proportion has increased sharply over the years,while other types of schools saw a downward trajectory.
In 2000, Voluntary-controlled schools had 52% students,the highest figure among all schools, afterwards a percentage followed a downward trajectory over the period, and noticably declined to 20% by 2009. Followed by Grammar-schools also experienced declined trend, the percentage of students decreased from 24% to 12% by 2009,showing the significant decrease to 12%. As for specialist schools, steadily decreased from 12% to 10%, decreased to 1% each year.
Turning to Community schools began the year with only 12% by 2009, then increased sharply to 58% by 2009, and passed over all schools.
