Dear Janice,
I hope you have been well. I received your letter asking for my help on your school project about the celebration of New Year in my nation. I feel honoured for this request and will gladly assist you in achieving your goals.
As my country is a culturally rich country, New Year holds a special significance. This is one of the very few days when people from all regions are equally excited about an event. Personally, it marks the beginning of a new chapter in life; an opportunity and indication to start your life afresh with new goals and a new perspective. All negative thoughts and grudges should be left in the past, signalling growth and better interpersonal relationships.
In order to reflect this interal spirit, various events are held all throughout the country. On New Year’s eve, people gather at their local sports complex to witness beautiful fireworks and a dance show, starting sharp 12 am. On the New Year’s day, a special parade is held. It is considered a public holiday, so people get to spend time with their family and visit the local temple for blessings. Some communities also exhibit gratefulness and brotherhood by organising events to give out free food to the regular public. The New Year celebrations in my country are one of a kind, showcasing the deep cultural and personal ties. I love to be a part of this celebration because it symbolizes the importance of humanity over religion.
I hope that my insight on this topic would be able to help you with your school work and you get great results. Let me know how it goes!
Best,
Kim
