Dear Ishi,
New year in the Philippines is a big celebration. Families will gather together and celebrate it together with a bang, literally with a “bang”.
We like to celebrate it with a lot of fireworks and loud music or any kind of noise actually. When the clock strikes 12, You’ll suddenly feel all excited because everything will happen all at once. Firework starts popping here and there, all car alarms are raging, and music on full blast and not a single car on the road for a drive. We actually just ride our bikes and just hang some cans on it so it will make a noise while your riding it.
I like how noisy and fun to celebrate new year in The Philippines. Back when I was a kid, I would always ask my father to buy me “torotot”, it’s basically a trumpet we use to make noise, when the clock strikes 12. You need to experience it, just come join us next new year and you’ll know what I’m talking about.
Kind regards,
Rea
