Band 9: Your friend has been offered a place on a course at the university where you studied. He/ She would like your advice about finding a place to live. Write an email to your friend. In your email, describe where you lived when you were a student at the university. Recommend the best way for him/her to look for accommodation. Warn him/her of mistakes students make when choosing accommodation.

Dear Paul,

First of all, I am very excited that you are going to study at the same university where I studied. I suppose you might be keen on the university and its environment. However, I am glad to help you find a place to live near the campus.

The accommodation where I used to live while I was studying was The Lumpini Park Condo. When I lived there, there were several facilities, such as a swimming pool, a 24-hour gym, and a cozy meeting room. Additionally, it is not far from the university, and you can walk there in about five minutes from the condo. Moreover, the place is next to public transportation, like the sky train and buses, which are very convenient for traveling around the city.

In case you are looking for another place, I would recommend that you contact the accommodation officers before going to see the actual place, as it may not be available. The point you must be concerned about is not transferring rental bonds before signing a contract. Many students have been scammed frequently.
