In your email, describe where you lived when you were a student at the university. Recommend the best way for him/her to look for accommodation. Warn him/her of mistakes students make when choosing accommodation.

Dear John, I am happy that you got accepted at the University of London, and I would be glade to give you my advice on finding a place to live.

During my college years, I lived in two places, the first one was the college dorm, whre I stayed for the first two years. The second place was a private accommodation called Tukva, where I spend the last two years.

Furthermore, I beilieve you should not stay at the college dorms because you will have to stay with five other students. Additionally, you will be sharing a kitchen and two bathrooms with 15 other people, so it is a horrible place to stay. From my experince, searching for a private accommodation is the your best choice.

Most students make one of two mistakes while looking for a place to stay. Firstly, do not stay in a place that is far away from the university. Secondly, check if they have internet conniction at the building, considering that you will have to do a lot of research for your courses.
