In the modern era, there are some people who argue that virtual learning is as effective as traditional study methods, while others argue that it cannot provide the same quality as face-to-face education. In my opinion, I firmly believe that e-learning has some benefits in terms of accessible education and time flexibility.
To begin with, internet-based learning can provide effortless access and maintain the quality of education for underprivileged learners in remote areas. For instance, in the past, accessing education for some individuals in underserved areas faced obstacles, such as having to travel long distances or lacking transportation means. Consequently, it not only had a detrimental impact on society, when a segment of students could not access education, but also entrenched social inequality and perpetuated cycles of poverty. However, thanks to technological developments, these barriers have been addressed. With technological breakthroughs in distance learning platforms, children in underprivileged areas can access high-quality education through just a phone or computer. As a result, not only is education equality promoted, but also the broader goal of building an innovative society is advanced.
Furthermore, e-learning also provides flexible schedules for learners. Previously, timetables were typically fixed by schools or universities, making it difficult for students to proactively manage them. Thus, many students struggled with balancing academic responsibilities with part-time jobs or other commitments, leading to higher dropout rates and increased academic pressure. Nevertheless, with the presence of digital learning platforms like Anki or Duolingo, learning paths can be personalized. Hence, students not only maintain better academic performance, but also develop crucial time-management and self-discipline skills, which are valuable both in education and in future careers.
In conclusion, long-distance learning has some beneficial effects, as it allows students to study irrespective of location and creates greater flexibility for learners. Hence, in my opinion, I strongly support the idea that distance learning is as effective as traditional education methods.
