In today’s world increasing number of people, especially children and teenagers are overweight which is associated with possible dangers when they grow older both in terms of health and healthcare costs. One of the main reasons, according to me is a sedentary lifestyle and other reasons are illustrated in the following paragraphs with possible solutions.
First of all, there are a plethora of reasons for increasing the weight of children above the standard limit and resulting in obesity, which leads to several health problems. The first reason for overweight children is a sedentary lifestyle. Children nowadays, hardly play any outdoor games and play games more on their smartphones or computers. Less physical activities and lack of exercise lead to laziness and a monotonous routine. The second reason for obesity is the consumption of junk food. For example, children nowadays, eat more junk food like pizza, pasta, noodles, packet food, etc., which leads to the consumption of more cheese and all-purpose flour resulting in increased weight. However, consuming more amount of cheese and not involving oneself in any sort of physical activity results in the accumulation of fats thereby, leading to obesity.
To begin with the solutions to the above-cited reasons, one possible solution is to make parents and children aware of problems caused by overweight and the dangers awaiting ahead due to a sedentary lifestyle. Motivating children to play outdoor games results in the burning of fat and the weight will be under control. Also, parents should involve their children in sports and admit them to any sports academy. By doing so, firstly, children will not gain much weight and become physically strong, and secondly, they get to know sports can also be a good career option. The second solution is to motivate children to eat more and more amount of green leafy vegetables and healthy homemade food and consume ample fruit juices. In addition, mothers can make pizza, pasta, etc., at home with modified recipes that are less harmful with this, the cravings of children are satisfied with less harmful ingredients.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that in today’s generation, children are overweight because of a sedentary lifestyle and more consumption of junk food, and a possible solution to this is motivating children to involve themselves in outdoor games and activities and encouraging them to eat healthy food.
