Nowadays, People are more enthusiastic to visit tourism places than they were in the past. Therefore, because of the large number of visitors, the potential destruction on the sites increases. This essay will discuss the reasons and proposes solutions for the concern.
To begin with, the type of destructive activity happening in the most tourist destinations is littering. It can definitely pollute the sites. One of the major factors of this problem is due to their low levels of awareness about cleanliness. This may appear when they do not receive information on where to dispose of their rubbish, and they are unable to understand the impact of littering. For example, a large amount of trash is scattered everywhere around tourism locations such as beaches, mountains, parks, and others which spoil the scenery. Another problem is the ruin and loss of the property caused by visitors. They break the tools, glass panes, and plants, or they take the property parts home. For instance, in 2015 the Amaryllis Garden, located in Gunung Kidul, Indonesia, experienced the damages of plant, especially flowers, thus making it restricted to visitors.
Based on the previous issues, to provide solutions for the challenges of both the littering habit and the property damage, the tourism officers and managers should come up with clear information and decisively make policies. For example, firstly, they must set up trash cans and give directions where they should throw garbage. Secondly, they are required to put prohibition signs wherever people are able to observe them. Then, if the travellers dispose of rubbish or ruin property, they will get fined.
To sum up, in order to address damaging activities that can be done by visitors due to certain motives, tourist destination management must probably consider conducting preventive and curative programs. As a result, the tourists can enjoy their sightseeing, and the tourism destinations maintain their sustainability.
