We cannot predict the future, therefore it is unknown whether we humans will become extinct or not. However, the numerous factors that provide major negative effects on our planet, could endanger our lives. How likely are we to become extinct?
One the one hand, humankind has lived on earth for thousands and thousands of years and out of nowhere it is impossible to vanish from the planet. We were created that way without the negative impacts we would not be able to survive and adapt to changes. Our planet is so massive that there is plenty of space for every human being. We have many supplies and resources that are sheltered within the Earth’s ecosystem, such as clean water, minerals and fresh food. These are crucial for protecting us from diseases and maintaining health.
On the other hand, there are quite many reasons why people are in danger of extinction. Firstly, global warming and climate change are major threats to the environment, in which the human race is created to live in. Secondly, forest destruction is increasing rapidly every year, which can lower the amount of oxygen in the atmosphere, as we know, it is essential for life. Finally, the rising temperatures cause many glaciers to melt, as a result, water levels are increasing constantly, therefore it can destroy crucial cities which are responsible for producing the substances needed for survival.
In conclusion, from my perspective, there is quite a danger of people becoming nonexistent because of the life-threatening problems we face, such as global warming, environmental degradation and climate change. These issues not only threaten our planet, but also they increase the chances of human extinction.
