It is claimed that in order to learn a language and culture of any country students have to travel there. I virtually disagree with this opinion as learners might learn particular language through advanced teachers who are aware of this language and do follow national geographics or the social media in order to see unusual lifestyles of other nations. However, there is a point that locals are still unable to feel these conditions through online interacting.
One important reason is the unimportance of traveling abroad to learn a language. To be specific, learning any language nowadays is possible because of the numerous native speakers and international teachers available. For example, in today’s developing world, students can enter any learning center in order to study a particular language locally. Obviously, we are able to find them on almost any street corner. Therefore, students do not need to travel anywhere just to learn a language, because there are many alternative ways to study.
Another reason why traveling is not required to see the culture of a nation is the content relating to on social media. To be specific, not only students but any human being are able to follow some channels on network to be aware of a culture or tradition of a country. Since people have an access to the internet nowadays, they can conclude themselves about variety of cultures by only watching a movie. However, there is a nuance, individuals cannot experience these lifestyles by only watching. Therefore, in this point having a trip in those countries might be the only solution.
In conclusion, modern tools like online native teachers and social media make learning a language and culture fully possible from home, feeling them and experience these lifestyles are still unable through this, so sometimes it does require to travel abroad.
