Band 4+: Consumers are faced with increasing numbers of advertisements from competing companies. To what extent do you think are consumers influenced by advertisements? What measures can be taken to protect them?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Advertising products, marketing and competing between companies are increased creating a confusion among the end users to choose appropriate product. I strongly agree agree with fact that, choosing the right product is difficult as the product users are convinced and opt items with promotions and advertisements. Some important action should be imposed to the companies or should be considerably balanced the use of advertisements.

Due to researched product marketing strategies, company are are well aware how products can get attracted, and it is through paid or unpaid advertisements more business can be created. Advertisement in the Medias such as TV Channels, Radio and Newspapers are commonly used, where they can get the maximum customer reach. They also use social media platforms for the advertisements especially in Facebook, Instagram and Youtube platforms to get more beneficial clients. Traditional methods like distributions of brochure or pamphlets are not commonly seen as social medias become the common market and people are not even interested to carry or record the printed pages or brochures.

These advertisements creates enormous confusion among the end user for which one to be opted and which one has to be rejected. Government officials should bring a control over the advertisements or some fact check monitoring should be conducted like a survey to enhance the quality of the product. A third party certification through government system may help with the integrity of product and also only good quality product manufactures will be ready to pay extra cost for the certification. Some European countries follow the same and manufacturers are forced to follow certain parameters and standards to clear the certification process. Other way can be controlling the use of advertisements by to revising the payment structure. There are also few other ways to balance the use of advertisements which can be discussed later.

In conclusion, limiting the advertisement is required by government authorities by proper actions as discussed and third party certification should be imposed to manufacturers more importantly. Consumers should get the healthy products ultimately and its our governments responsibility to execute with the necessary actions.
