Nowadays, technology serve an important role in an array of aspects of life, including solutions to deal with crime rates.Individuals stated that the revolution of technology contributed a small proportion in the decline of crime rates since they help spreading information faster.I agree with this statement.I will discuss the effects in the following paragraph.
The first reason for the decline of crime rates is the use of surveillance technologies.In modern days, many people have their accommodations equipped with recording devices such as Guarding cameras(a.k.a CCTV). This act has not just protected their property but also helps preventing criminals since these devices are capable of capturing images or videos in a long period of time to identify the thieves.For example, many thieves were caught since their identity were revealed by the images from CCTV, even the wanted criminals are mostly published with their face and obvious informations.
Another reason for the effects of technology in solving the criminal math is the development of social network.This is because the spreading speed of information is very fast in this era where most people have their own phone to access the internet and discuss together.This is connect to the decline of crime rates since people can use their phone or laptop not only to point out the criminals but also to raise people to keep their awareness of dangerous threats.For example, social network like Facebook is a virtual connection of users around the world and so posts or information about wrongs are also uploaded on this website and visible to anyone who is using Facebook, which helps decrease the proportion of crime since people have already been alerted about the situation.
In conclusion, the development of technology contributed a lot in declining crime rates.This is proven in our daily life, through our own observation.Therefore, I strongly agree with this notion.
