Many people increasingly prefer to go to private hospitals. It mostly depend on people’s economic status and corruption rate of their countries. While there are certain drawbacks to this, they are far outweighed by the benefit.
One downside of going to private hospitals is expenses. Most of the government hospitals are cheaper than private hospitals, in addition in some countries even free to check up in government hospitals. People who have troubles with their own economy, they will hardly pay the charge. Accessibility is another disadvantage. Government hospitals are everywhere and you can access them easily. In contrast private hospitals are rare and hard to access them because they are most of time far away from city center.
Despite these disadvantages, the advantages are greater. One major pros is that in private hospitals, their staff are highly educated, more experienced and capable for their own job. When you go to government hospitals, doctors will be inexperienced, don’t show interest, and especially in undemocratic countries, they will give you wrong medication course. Lack of wage can corrupt doctors and drug companies use this opportunity. Another advantage of private hospitals is the increased comfort. Queue systems are well planned and you don’t need to waste 1 or 2 hours in front of doctors door. Also rooms and equipment are expensive and for that reason they will be quite luxurious.
In conclusion, the disadvantages of private hospitals include the lack of accessibility and high cost of medication, but they are not as significant as the advantages, such as reliable check-up and elimination of wasting time on waiting room.
