It is true that one of high supporting fields to economy is tourism in most countries in the world, while there are some serious negative consequences of this trend . I would argue that these are outweighed by the advantages.
On the one hand, there are 2 main advantages that developed tourism may affect to country’s economy, and cause opening new job places for local citizens. First of all, tourists spend much money to hotels, entertainment centers, restaurants and cafes, especially traditional ones, transport vehicles and medical care. So tourism makes an additional income for the region which in turn gives a boost in its economy. In addition to, because of tourism, new working places are established for those who live in this area by region’s officials. For instance, the result of tourist crowd demands in more restaurant workers, tour guide, hotel staff and others. That’s why owners of local business provide more unemployed people, namely youngsters, with these positions.
On the other hand, yet tourism has most major disadvantages, as much. Destruction of popular buildings, pollution of environment is some of these issues. Ancient monuments and temples can be damaged in the result of tourist’s stream. Then, a large number of tourists are able to cause environmental pollution. Hence, usage from transportation system a lot can cause air pollution, increasing of plastic items can cause soil and sea pollution. For example, most people who come to a strange country do not pay much attention to cleaning of places, so some tourists do not throw the garbage to trash can, while they do not act like that in their hometown.
In conclusion, although tourism may have some disadvantages, such as damaging of buildings and pollution, it has highly positive effect to country’s economic system, provides many new jobs for local people and causes an effective increase of unemployment.
