Band 7+: Despite a large number of gyms, a sedentary lifestyle is gaining popularity in the contemporary world. What are the problems associated with this, and what solutions can you suggest?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In recent years inactive lifestyle has caught on despite the abundance of health facilities for exercise. Therefore, a modern way of life may encompass a certain health and social issues which are to be solved. This essay will consider related reasons and provide effective resolutions.

On the one hand, advancements in technology enable people to make money at home, using a computer. Furthermore, individuals find it reasonable and highly convenient to keep up to date in a click and stay informed without leaving their homes. So, in the modern world, a person is likely to become addicted to smartphones rather than exercising in a gym. On the other hand, endless entertainment and social technology-based possibilities people opt for are surely to bring on urgent health concerns. Workers tend to spend about eight hours glued to their monitors suffering from back problems as a result. An obesity problem shouldn’t be ignored as another detrimental consequence of leading a stationery life. Disrupting habits the current generation is subjected to are proved to affect mental health as well. More and more people are experiencing depression nowadays having a loss of self-esteem and collective bonds as its main reason.

One of the approaches to modify a modern way of life is to promote active patterns at work places. For instance, some fitness initiatives should be implemented during a working day: sport break ups or a brief warm-up will make difference. Opening gyms or just small recreations in offices will definitely contribute to healthy way of living among employees minimizing time to get to fitness centres after work. It’s also essential that a person strive to keep fit. Specialists recommend taking a half-an-hour walk every day or at least a few physical trainings at home to get favourable effects on a state of health. These actions aren’t hard to take but appear to be rather reliable!

To sum up, I’d want to state that leading a sedentary lifestyle is more challenging as one may suppose. We have access to enough sport facilities to incorporate in our daily routine so as to cut back on its adverse outcomes on health.
