It is often argued that the directors of the big companies are required to be paid high wages in comparison to their employees whereas some people think that it is unfair to treat the directors and ordinary workers with equal salaries. In my opinion, it is essential to provide higher salaries to the officials of the organization as they are professionals and have great work experience.
To begin with, the need to pay more money to the directors for rendering their services is mainly because they are highly educated and know how they can use their theoretical knowledge efficiently. They are aware of numerous solutions, which they can use to deal with critical problems. In contrast, ordinary workers have less experience. For instance, the board of directors of Nestle has a higher income as they are skilled and can make vital decisions like the diversification of the product, increase in production branches, etc. As a result, it becomes significant to provide high compensation to directors and ordinary workers.
However, if similar wages were given to both employees and officials, then it would result in a bringing equality among all the groups. The subordinates would no longer feel inferior to their superiors. Owning to this, the workers would try to improve their performance and share their suggestions with their officials, for instance, in Russia, some companies are trying to provide equal salaries to both workers and directors for a short run.
In conclusion, superiors must be given higher salaries than workers as they own much greater abilities which are not posses simple workers.
