It is stated that workers at high positions in companies earn more than those in normal positions. Although, some believe it is essential, others believe it means treating individuals at different positions unfairly. In my perspective, both sides make sense because of their unique and justifiable reasons. However, I totally approve of the former group. The article is structured as follows: reasons for the first view, reasons for the second view, my opinions, conclusion.
A number of individuals argue that offering higher salaries for the superior is needed. Firstly, higher salary can provide incentives to boost workers to work hard, therefore improving working efficiency and companies’ profit rate. Secondly, high-position jobs are normally more effort-consuming and idea-consuming, meaning people in these positions tend to work longer and leverage their creativity more frequently. High salary in this context can serve as a complement to the effort and creativity cost.
On the contrary, some claim that different level salaries can cause unfairness issue. Truly, treating individuals within the same company but with different position level undermines community’s harmony and less-paid workers’ rights. Because low salaries can have negative impact on people, damaging their mental health and might eventually causing serious confliction between people with differernt salaries.
In my point of view, I completely aggre with offering higher salaries for people at superior positions. Even if it might undermine other workers’ rights and harmony of community, but the negative consequences could be avoided by alleviating other workers’ burden and extend their off-work time. For example, companies can issue more holidays to workers at inferior positions, improving workers’ life quality without increasing salary level.
In conclusion, both groups’ opinions are justifiable because high salaries can boost working efficiency and complement the excessive effort that high-salary individuals pay while it might undermine other worker’s rights and community harmony. I approve of high salaries for people in superior positions are essential as the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. Side effects could be prevented by introducing inferior-position workers more off-work time to alleviate workers’ burden.
