It could be argued that because of the major changes in the women’s roles in this modern society, men are being the new victims of sexual discrimination. I agree to this statement and in this essay we are going to discuss both sides of the argument and conclude on why I agree with it.
On one hand, people in this modern society have worked very hard to ensure the equality between men and women. Not only females but also many male leaders have fought to bring the reforms in different fields which could provide equal opportunities to women. These efforts were made to prevent a male dominant culture and maintain an equilibrium across the fields. The steps taken were like, providing female reservations and cutting in the expenses for female in many aspects. These steps really promoted the women empowerment and many women were seen coming up the ladder and standing in many commanding positions.
On the other hand, it could be argued that the women empowerment is effecting the male in a negative manner. In this liberal society people tried to promote feminism in order to maintain equality between men and women, but these days it is evident that many pseudo feminists are working towards creating a women dominant society. The reservations are leading to rejections of many deserving males, and the freebies provided to women and somehow compensated through men which is causing a negative impact on man’s mental and physical health. Because in many cultures still the man is considered as the provider and the discrimination could lead a unhealthy environment in the family.
To conclude, I would say the man and woman are like two wheels of the society and both need to move with an equal speed if we want an utopian world.
