Some people hold a belief that teenagers cannot get good academic grades at the same time when they are taking part in extracurricular activities like sports and hobbies. From my perspective, I disapprove of this statement and I will analyze my opinion in this essay.
First of all, additional activities could broaden students’ knowledge about various aspects of life. Educational programs tend to provide them with information about all fields, such as the environment, society, law, etc., so they could have a better understanding of social knowledge, leading to better scores in practical curriculum. Secondly, teenagers who master time management skills could strike a reasonable balance between schooling and extra activities. For instance, there are several techniques that can be used for saving time and working efficiently like Pomodoro. To illustrate clearly, they spend 25 minutes on high concentration on studying and 5 minutes on break, then the rest of the time could be spent on sports or hobbies without any distraction.
Last but not least, extracurricular activities could promote their physical and mental health. After stressful lessons, a short break with some sports is a wise choice for students to recharge their batteries and increase focus. Therefore, a sharp mind could enhance the quality of memorizing and learning, helping them get good academic performance.
In conclusion, students are completely able to balance good academic grades with additional activities due to both the benefits that they bring. In my book, the way how to balance is an essential thing teenagers should learn.
