In many parts of the world, human beings are wasting huge amount of food products. Tackling the global food waste crisis has been a topic fo debate for many years. In this essay, I will examine the some detrimental aspects and give my own solution and views to reduce food waste.
The global food waste issues can attributed to a variety of factors. With over-purchasing and poor meal planning, combined with throwing leftovers, wasting food has reached epedemic proportions in developed countries, which means that much of the waste is produced by those countries. In contrast, in lower-income countries, food waste occurs due to inadequate storage, transportation, and poor harvesting techniques.
Given these circusmtances, it comes as no surprise that food waste problems do not only impacts supply chains, but also lead to carbon emissions by releasing carbon gases during spoilage.
In recent years, governments have introduced new regulations encouraging people to live more eco-friendly lifestyle to make a big difference when it comes to slowing drawbacks of food waste. Take Japan, for example: Japanese people have to pay fines if they do not get rid of thier trash into separated garbage bins. There are several garbage bins, including plastic items, food products, crystals, and metal items. This technique gain ground in japan to reduce greenhouse gases. In addition to this positive, this type of regulation is gain popularity in other parts of the world.
In conlucion, while governments and corporations stressing the importance of food waste management, I believe that both governmental and anthropogenic actions are essential to make significant strides toward a more sustainable, food-secure world.
