Band 6: Every single one of young people wants to get an esteemed job. (User-Written IELTS Writing Task 2 Essay)

Every single one of young people wants to get an esteemed job. The project I am working on is aimed at establishing what professions Netland teenagers consider prestigious. I have found some data with the results of the opinion polls presented in a table. In this project I am going to analyze the findings, outline a problem and a probable solution for it.

As can be seen from the table, Lawyer (32%) and Programmer (30%) are chosen by the majority of the respondents as the most prestigious professions. At the same time, Manager counts much lower number of interviewees, just 7%.

It is noticeable, that option “Programmer” (30%) is twofold more popular than “Doctor” (15%). It can be explained by the fact that, in most cases, a profession of programmer is a lot more lucrative and profitable than working as a doctor. Another probable reason is that a person can work as a IT-specialist from home, and that is considered to be very convenient by a lot of young people.

Some problems may arise while choosing a career. The most crucial of them is deciding which job you want to bind your life with. Many teenagers can be blinded by a huge diversity of professions so they might have difficulties at choosing what they want to do. In this case, a person should analyze their interests and likings, so that they will be sure what job will bring them pleasure.

In conclusion, I think choosing a career is a significant step in one’s life. To make this process easier, a person should take into account all drawbacks and benefits of each job and decide which will they enjoy.
