Nowadays it is helpful for people to have a couple of jobs or more. I agree with this statement 50 percent. On the one hand, we live in a time of change, in this case employees should be ready for all sudden events, that concern their work. On the other hand, there are some professions, that remain steady, due to society’s needs.
Capitalistic economy is not stable. It demands new ideas and creates easier ways of doing different work. It can afflict a few jobs and it can even make them useless or not popular in public. Therefore, the flexibility would be good for every employee. They should hedge their bets to be sure of their position. For instance, big companies used to have accountants years ago, however they were replaced by count machines.
In contrast, it seems to me that some kinds of jobs are necessary at any time. These professions are relevant and have enough workload. Also, they can not be done by any machines. They require human activity or empathy. I can name a few of them: cook, doctor, psychologist. For example, people often get ill and ask for doctor’s help. In result, doctors do not have to look for another career to start.
In conclusion. I accept that having more than one job is really profitable and it is worth people’s time. Though, it depends on everybody’s life situation. Individuals should consider what type of career they have, would it be relevant through years or not.
