In these days, despite knowing about negative consequences of not preserving environment safe, people are making less effort to protect natural surroundings such as preventing animals and plants from extinction. While there are some reasons that can explain why this is the case, a number of effective measures can be taken to mitigate this problem.
There are a number of contributing factors that have led to this negligence of environment in modern world. First and foremost, less investments are made from governments to stimulate protection of nature. Authorities are pouring less money into environmental projects because they are always sought to make profit. For example, setting a certain amount of money aside for tree planting organizations in order to increase greenery in the country by which they cannot make profit, governments choose to invest in factories and companies to improve their economic state. Because of not gaining advantage from trying to preserve nature, governments tend to neglect this. As a result, not intending to take care of the environment, authorities would have to face with natural disorders such as severe storms and drought. Along with this, population growth can be a second reason of this trend. The population rate is rising significantly, leading to high usage of natural resources like tress, fossil fuels and animals to create goods for the public instead of protecting them. For instance, high-density population requires companies and factories provide them with essential needs such as clothes, food and shelter. In order to meet these needs, factories have to chop down tress for the sake making wood products or companies need to kill some types of animals so that they can produce outfits for people made out of animal’s fir. Consequently, by excessively harnessing natural resources for making products, rare spices of flora and fauna starts dying out.
However, there are actions that can be taken by both individuals and society to deal with this problem. Initial solution is broadening public knowledge of negative outcomes of not taking care of the environment. Local news organizations can broadcast or describe about disastrous occurrences of not protecting nature. To give just one example, displaying or writing about fires in forests, an increase in carbon dioxide emissions or global warming caused by greenhouses in television or newspaper can be a reason for people to take further steps to prevent these to happen. Subsequently, by illustrating dangerous consequences of preserving goods of flora and fauna can play a significant role in protecting the environment. Secondly, authorities can encourage nature preserve volunteering among people. Governments can pay individuals for participating in environmental projects to save nature clean; they can give a particular amount of money for volunteers who decided to remove litter from oceans and rivers or pick up different types of trashes in the forest. To illustrate, in America’s universities, principals incite their students to take part protecting nature projects by giving them discounts for their studies or paying them wage for 3-4 hours work. By doing so, people would make not only money by joining these projects, but also, they will keep their natural surroundings clean.
To sum up, while it is clear to me that less financial support from authorities and increased population can be the reasons for this issue, it is also obvious that several solutions such as broadening public awareness of natural catastrophes and promote volunteering.
