Globalisation has significantly transformed the modern world. While it has brought prosperity and improved living standards for many, it is also argued that it has made a wider divide between wealthy and the poor. This essay will present both points of view before my own opinion.
On the one hand, globalisation has contributed to better standards by boosting economic growth and creating employment opportunities. With expansion of international trade and investment, many developing countries have attracted foreign companies, leading to job creation and higher income levels. Moreover, access to global markets has enabled local businesses to grow. People also benefit from access to better technologies, education, and healthcare, which expances their quality of life. For example, countries like India and Vietnam have seen significant improvements in infrastucture and literacy due to global investments.
On the other hand, critics argue that globalisation has widened the gap between the rich and the poor. While multinational companies earn huge profits, much of the wealth remains concentrated in the hands of a few. Workers in low-income countries often face poor working conditions and low wages. Additionally, small local businesses may struggle to compete against large international companies, leading to job losses and social inequality.
In my opinion, although globalisation has brought many benefits, its advantages are not evenly shared. The gap between rich and poor has indeed widened in many places. However, I believe that with proper government policies and fair regulations, the negative effects could have been reduced.
In conclusion, globalisation has both positive and negative impacts. While it has improves living standards for many, it has also increased inequality. Governments sgould take active steps to ensure that globalisation works for everyone equally, not just a selected few.
