Some consider that supporting artists a lot is a waste of budget and that money should be used for somewhere else instead, while governments favour professions from the art industry with significant aids. Although individual sectors also need support from the government, I believe that spending money on art and media can help countries explore the earth.
On the one hand, public health and education are vital sectors compared to the art industry, and the states should provide a large amount of budget so that the public can get sufficient aids in those services. Governments collect tax regularly from their citizens, and the public should get sufficient services in health care and schooling in return. For example, the Australian government is able to supply retired people and the jobless with a certain amount of money on a monthly basis. Although it is seriously important to supply people in general requirements by government, I believe that expense for professions from the art industry is not useless, as they can influence their audience by soft power and present as an identity for their countries.
On the other hand, governments support huge amounts of budget for artists because art is an option to connect with the world. It is sometimes difficult to speak out about what is happening in countries, and art can be used as a tool to tell history, cultures, and standards of living. For example, South Korea is becoming popular for presenting their customs and traditions using art and media. Some of their celebrities achieve acknowledgement by audiences around the world. Therefore, I believe that the professions from the art industry play important roles and deserve to get huge supplies so that they can express the living standard of an individual country, and the battle of people living in countries via art is an effective and useful way.
In conclusion, different sectors that provide general services to the public are important; however, being well-supported for artists helps countries present their identity throughout the planet.
