When discussing the subject matter of lowering carbon emissions in the atmosphere the question always asked is how can we reduce the amount of private vehicle on the road.
The removing of the charge for public transport can definitely make a large difference in the usage of private vehicle as this will remove the financial barrier. More people will rather choose the option of getting on buses, trains or other forms of transportation than to use their own cars that they would have to fill fuel and still maintain the quality of there automobile.
This opens up the doors for reduced traffic congestion which essentially means that the amount of cars on the road will be less which intern reduces the amount of fuel consumed on the road which leads to less greenhouse gas emissions which go along with idling in traffic.
However with all the good that this endeavor can bring to society we would still need to address the elephant in the room, which would be, how would the government afford to pay for the maintenance of the transportation if there is no fee on it. I believe a strategy of making everyone who is capable to, pay a small fee every month but since a majority percentage will be able to contribute for this purpose then in totality the funds will add up to the required amount.
In conclusion I strongly agree with this venture as it seems that it can be a big step in the mission to cleaning up air pollution and protecting the environment.
