Fast food have become a staple in modern daily life due to its convenience and affordability. Some people argue that authorities should impose higher taxes on fast food to curb its consumption. While I believe this may benfit to some extend but not in long run. By imposing taxes, the unhealthy eating habits, may not eliminate it completely. It would possess unncessary strain on low- income individuals. Taxing unhealthy food could discourage the excessive consumption of fast food but would not eliminate it completely. Young busy professionals are fond of fast food due to its affordability and convenience. Nowadays, people are relying on fast food due to their busy, and fast paced lifestyles without knowing, it would have bad impact on their healths. Eating excessive unhealthy causes obesity and other health-related problems lowering the years a person lives. Imposing taxes on fast food would only lead to switch between unhealthy food such as sugary drinks or processed canned food.
Instead of imposing taxes on public, governmebt should encourage the education of healthy eating and better lifestyles. By educating the young individuals and children, the society would become aware of healthy eating. Regulatory authorities should lower the cost of healthy food items. This would put pressure on people to include healthy food into their lives.
