In many nations, Tabac cigarettes are now banned in public areas. Some think that such a decision is well justified. This essay completely agrees with this statement because smoking causes severe diseases and increases the number of smoking people.
One reason is that cigarettes affect the immune system and lead to uncured sicknesses. Smoking can cause a permanent damage to several parts of the human’s body such as teeth, throats, lungs, and even brain. The teeth of people, who consistently smoke for several years, become yellow and they will have a bad mouth smell. Moreover, in some cases, they may suffer from throat or lung cancer. The severity of this situation can increase and lead to a chronic disease, causing people’s death. Unfortunately, cigarettes do not solely influence persons who smoke, it may also affect people around them who inhale their smoke. Therefore, cigarettes should be banned in areas where people meet or gather in public spaces. For example, in France, when states made smoking in public illegal, the number of individuals who got throat and lungs tumors significantly reduced.
Another reason why smoking in public is illegal because is to not affect the behavior of other individuals who do not smoke. People tend to replicate actions they often observe or see without conscious, especially kids and adults. This means; if they keep seeing others smoking in public, they may do the same thing without thinking about the consequences, resulting in a smoking culture country. For instance, the number of smokers was decreased by 15% in Russia, when the governments banned cigarettes in public.
In conclusion, banning smoking in public is well justified as smoking in public leads to consistent heath damage and increases the number of smokers.
