As far as I know, the topic of household trash has become a controversial issue among the authorities. Today, the amount of household garbage, such as food packaging waste, is increasing, so I will clarify this subject and discuss the causes of this problem, as well as solutions, in the following paragraphs.
The main cause is the production of eye-catching containers by different factories that want to boost their revenue by attracting customers. Different containers, made from substandard, environmentally unfriendly materials, can devastate the environment. Not only that, people are also becoming more consumerist, creating a pile of trash. Consequently, this approach creates an amount of household waste.
To address this critical issue, individuals should learn how to divide their household waste into biodegradable waste (which can be burned in a landfill) and unbiodegradable waste (which can be reused). If the government passes a law fining manufacturers, they will be motivated to utilize environmentally friendly materials in food packaging, which can be decomposed and recycled. Another solution is teaching our children to respect the environment in schools. Therefore, the government can play a pivotal role in solving this problem.
In conclusion, a primary reason for increasing waste is consumerism, which prefers various goods and commodities in beautiful colors, shapes, and materials. To tackle this issue, the government should bear responsibility for imposing a hefty tax on producers and manufacturers.
