Band 5+: In many countries, the number of people choosing to live alone is increasing. What are the reasons for this trend, and is it a positive or negative development?

In this modernized era, more and more people are inclined to live alone. In this essay we will outline the reasons behind this phenomenon and whether this trend is beneficial or not.

People tend to live alone due to technological advancements and work pressure. The appearance of media platforms make communication between individuals way easier than ever, making the need for face-to-face interaction reduced. People are used to using the internet to connect with other people, which is weakening the bond between individuals.For instance, when one has the ability to speak with all of their acquaintances, requiring only your smartphone, they will lose the desire for company. In the current marketplace, individuals have to work hard to secure their life, social status, reducing the time for social engagement for finding potential companions. For instance, Japanese is facing a serious issues of workaholic rate in their population, detaily, young Japanese prefer working and living alone instead of with other people, which also reduce this country newborns rate.

I strongly believe this is a negative development, which will lead to many serious problems for both individuals and society. Living alone for a long time can have a negative impact on one’s mental health. Loneliness may make the brain into the stative mode, in which individuals feel daunting and unenergized. The effect may involve other area too, such as work and study. In the large scale picture, seclude young individuals will effect to population tree of the country. The majority of people will become old, and there will not be enough young people to support the economic system, following by numerous problems like increasing criminal rate, or decreasing of the life quality of citizens.

In conclusion, technology advancements and work pressure are the reasons behind the increase in the number of people living alone, a pressing problem.
