The quality of life in large cities is getting worse. What problems can this cause, what are the possible solutions? In the modern world, living in big cities is becoming worse because of the growth of population. Among the many solutions, the most effective ones are increasing the number of cities and creating opportunities for living in villages as well as cities.
One major cause of this phenomenon is the increasing number of people in large cities. This is because many governments pay attention mainly to larger cities by building new infrastructure. Although this seems to be good, it leads to most people who live in the countryside trying to move to urban areas to increase the quality of their own lives, contributing to the growing population in large cities. As a result, in many cities, a lack of infrastructure and noise pollution happen because of the big population. Therefore, living in cities is getting worse day by day.
On the other hand, increasing the number of cities may divide the big population into several parts. Not only does creating new cities help to decrease the number of people, but it also contributes to creating new infrastructure like healthcare in new cities. This leads to increasing the quality of life by creating new small-scale cities.
One more, but not less effective strategy is supporting living in the countryside by rising the quality of living. If people lived in villages like living in cities, most people would not want to leave their native areas. This is because, according to some information, more than half of the people who moved to big cities went to the cities for finding a better job and for educational purposes. Several South American countries like Argentina, for example, were leaders in urbanization because healthcare and other comforts were created in these countries in the 2000s, but most people from villages started moving to the city. As a result, the quality of living in cities is the worst in these countries now.
In conclusion, although creating more than the needed amount of infrastructure in larger cities seems good, it leads to increasing the number of people in these cities. The quality of living in cities getting worse is largely attributable to the big population. From my perspective, dividing the population by creating new cities and improving infrastructure in villages may cause the lives of people who live in cities to become better.
