Band 5: In many countries the widespread use of internet has given people more freedom to work or study at home instead of traveling to work or college. Do the advantages outweigh disadvantages? (User-Written IELTS Writing Task 2 Essay)

In the contemporary world, using widely from the internet is becoming increasingly common and giving individuals liberty to work and study at home instead of traveling to work or educational center. While there are both benefits and drawbacks, I would outweigh disadvantages.

To begin with advantages, it may be important for everyone to point out that people can live with their family although their work or study is in a foreign country thanks to using internet. This is because living away from relatives seems difficult and causes homesickness. Moreover, people can avoid themselves spending their much time on a way. The reason for this is that many directions to another country might take even days. For example, there are some students studying abroad in Uzbekistan and they spend at least a day to arrive there. As a consequent, these students may waste their much time on a way. If they do not spend lots of time on a way, opportunity can be available to distribute their valuable time to another essential activity.

When it comes to disadvantages, it is internet that can make people lazy and bored irrespective of that their purpose is to work or study. The main reason is necessity to the internet because even some fields are using it to create new facilities for people. For instance, some universities in foreign countries such as Harward and Oxford have started to involve learners from other countries and even using this internet-based system to keep them. Additionally, the second drawback is that those who work or study at home cannot enjoy amazing views of the world. This is why they will get used to prefer unreal parts of the world on screen, instead. As a result, this approach can lead to some regrets in the future. In contrast, people would enjoy the real conditions and prefer natural world to internet-related world.

In conclusion, although the internet which has given many facilities such as working or studying at home without traveling abroad has brought some advantages of living with family and avoiding waste of time, I outweigh its disadvantages, making people bored and being unable to enjoy the natural world.
