In some nations, there is a condition where older people and productive age people are facing a different level of capability, especially in their skills of operating technologies. I believe there are several impacts that hold this condition account and probably some solutions to overcome the impacts.
To begin with, many elderly people have a lot of struggle in adapting with the growing technology that lead them to experience some problems in their lives. Firstly, older people will somehow facing communication barrier with the younger one due to their lack of technical skills in technologies. As we know, technology can create another words that represent the product inside their technologies. These words sometimes are used to name an application in specific type of device. For example, Facetime is a common voice communication that exists in Apple devices, for some older people who is not regularly in contact with this gadget will not understand what Facetime is.
However, that barrier can be overcome with a simple strategy. When people grow older, they have this tendency to not care about any updates of technologies. With the help of the younger one, they can help the oldies to learn the basic information relating to the gadget itself. For instance, when grandparents encounter an uncommon word inside their devices, they should ask for their children assistance in order to understand the problem. Despite their willingness to learn, those who in charge in teaching them should keep in mind that it will not be that easy to make them understand in one go. Being patient is a key to help them overcome their lacknesses.
In conclusion, I believe that lack of technical skills in the elderly people can be addressed well if there is willingness in learning and teaching. With the help from the younger one, this matter could be easily removed the barrier in both age of groups.
