Adopting pets is an increasing trend nowadays. No matter what country people belong to or what religion, race, gender they are from, their love for adopting pets is same. But with adopting pets comes a great responsibility with them which is their care and upbringing which is one of the most hectic task for the pet owners. Nowadays, there is also a trend of people adopting pets that require specialized care, such as exotic reptiles. One of the most common reason for adopting these kind of exotic pets is show off, due to competitive mindset among the people. They oftenly think that having a pet from foreign country will increase their stature in society, they doesn’t care what these pets go through all their life. On the other hand some people love to have pets as a companion for them, they care them as one of their own. The reason for this is that in today’s running world people are not being social, they do not make friends which results in development of feeling of loneliness and insecurity in them. Thereafter, having a pet as their friend and companion is a nice thing and it also connect the pet owners and the animal emotionally. Due to this emotional connect the care and love for the pet increases naturally.
Now the question is, Is this trend ultimately beneficial or detrimental for both pet owners and animals themselves. Now, there can be multiple opinions and conflicts on this matter but as per my opinion having exotic reptiles or any other exotic animal as pet is not beneficial at all because adopting a pet from foreign country means you are changing their habitat, their atmosphere, their environment, everything that they are naturally made to live with and forcing them, against their will to live in an artificial ecosystem which do not satisfied their needs to live.
This whole thing can also be detrimental to the pet owners as well. As a pet owner most of the people connect emotionally with their pets then if their loved one can not live happily in an artificial environment, it will always be a disturbing thought in their mind.
Adopting a pet that require specialized care is only beneficial when the owner is well educated and have enough knowledge about the habitat of the pet. If one is fully aware of the surrounding, environment, habitat and the ecosystem of the pet they are adopting and they are able to take care of that animal with love then they are free to adopt any kind of pet they want.
In summary, this increasing trend of adopting pet that requires specialized care is only beneficial if you are fully aware of the habitat, surrounding and the ecosystem of the pet. Otherwise, avoid petting such exotic animal, better adopt the animals from your own country where that animal can live peacefully and naturally.
