Children learning in single-sex schools or co-educational schools is the decision of the parents. Some people think that children going to single-sex schools have disadvantages later in life. However, in my opinion, the two types of pupils have the same fate in the educational life, but the pupils differ in the social life. Firstly, this essay will talk about single-sex schools and their impact on the future life of the students. Secondly, it will also discuss the impact of co-educational schools on the long term of life.
On the one hand, single-sex schools have numerous advantages in the life of students both presently and in the future. Single-sex schools have fewer distractions. This is because if a school has only boys or girls, students would not be distracted by members of the opposite sex. Instead, they will only focus on their studies. For example, many pupils of single-sex schools in Lebanon occupy positions among the first in official exams.
On the other hand, the students who learn in co-educational schools have more chances to communicate with members of the opposite sex. Therefore, their social skills would be better in the future life. Also, mixed schools provide the same information as single-sex schools. For example, a student who has social skills excels in job matches.
In conclusion, it must be recognized that mixed schools provide a better future in the students’ social and practical life.
