In many states, it is trend to postpone the matrimony, therefore having a descendant in an older stage of their life compared with previous generations. In this essay, we will examine the causes of this trend and the future impact that will have in the society.
On the one hand, the roots that caused the delay marriage of the younger individuals, therefore having children in late stages of their lifes is the substantial increase of the cost of living. Nowadays, the cost of quality had boosted quite rapid, such as the rent, supermarket goods or fuel. Therefore means that been married is quite challenging for the new generations, they can not handle the pressure of the current costs, they need time, once they save the sufficient amount of funds, consequently they could have the possibility to afford the costs of a marriage.
On the other hand, the pressure and stereotypes that the society imposes in the incoming generations is one of the main causes of young people to give birth children in an advanced stage of their lifes in comparison with the older individuals. The current society had been gradually pushing negative pressure and stereotypes in the teenagers that had provoked several insecurities and aggravated the mental health of these individuals, for instance, the academic pressure that they have suffered during their life as a students, they might reflect those insecurities in their children, therefore, they currently fear to have children.
From my point of view, the trend of the new generations of postponing their marriage have a substantial negative impact in our society as mentioned, given the high cost of living, making unaffordable for the young people and the pressure that this group of individuals are suffering.
In conclusion, the governments have the duty to solve this issue, implementing policies that could help to this part of the population of our society, reducing the costs of living and implementing measures to take care of the mental health of the young people.
